Do I really need a computer to make and receive VOIP calls?

While a computer is just one of the ways you you can make and receive VOIP calls, there are several other ways you can make use of DoorVaani VOIP services. These include:

  • 1. Using a Hardware IP phone
  • 2. Using a soft phone on your smart mobile phone or Tab
  • 3. Using a regular landline phone a.k.a analog phone plugged into an ATA (Analog Telephone Adaptor)

Which Hardware IP phones DoorVaani can work with?

DoorVaani can work with any standards based IP phone from a manufacturer or brand of your choice and a model of your choice. If you face any issues with any phone, you may please contact us or refer the problem to the customer service of the manufacturer.

Which soft phones DoorVaani can work with?

DoorVaani can work with any standards based soft phone of your choice including the Freely downloadable soft phones. We have tested several soft phones with our service. Some of the popular computer based soft phones tested to work with our service are X-Lite, QuteCom and ZoIPer. All of these are freely downloadable from their respective websites.

DoorVaani was also tested to work with android based softphones. The android softphones that were successfully tested to work over 3G with DoorVaani are CSipSimple, ZoIPer and Sipdroid. We could also test CSipSimple to work over Wi-Fi behind a NAT device (Cone NAT) using STUN.

Do you support G729 codec?

Yes. We do support G729 codec.

What are the advantages of using G729 codec?

Low bandwidth usage, better call quality, faster call connection and lower delay in voice reaching the other end.

Do you provide Voice Mail?

Do you support call transfer?

Can I have my number, that I own from another service provider, set as my caller ID?

Yes. You can set any number that you own from any other service provider including landline PSTN numbers or mobile numbers of any country worldwide as your caller ID. For this you need to get your number verified using our automated number verification system. Can I set auto renewal of my phone numbers?

Can I set short extension numbers to my VOIP Lines?
